PEECS 2007

Scope

The symposium is jointly organised by Murdoch University, Edith Cowan University, Curtin University of Technology and University of Western Australia. It is aimed at giving postgraduate students in the area of Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, and related fields an opportunity to present their research work to a wide Western Australian audience. The symposium is aimed at increasing awareness of research activities in different departments and to encourage more research collaboration among the universities. The presence of representatives of local industry and the State Government at the symposium will increase their understanding of the skills and expertise of postgraduate students. Undergraduate students are encouraged to attend to raise their awareness of the range of current postgraduate research activities.

The symposium is strongly supported by the relevant University departments and by Institute of Engineers Australia, the IEEE Western Australia section, and IEE Western Australia.

Postgraduate students who have completed at least one year of their research program are strongly encouraged to give an oral presentation at the symposium. The presenters should attempt to make their talks interesting to a wide-range audience and include applications and relevance of their work to associated industry, as well as technical content. Postgraduate students who are in their first year of research program are encouraged to give a poster presentation of their research proposal. All staff are also welcome to attend the symposium.
